We aspire to embody compassion and wisdom in all our work, and to become a global resource for spiritual wisdom to benefit all sentient beings.
Andrew Bakaki
Andrew has been practicing meditation since 2012. His practice is rooted in the classical early Buddhist teachings and the Vipassana meditation tradition. He has done many periods of silent long-term retreats. Andrew is now a certified mindfulness meditation teacher by the Awareness Training Institute in collaboration Sounds True and the Greater Good Science Center of the University of California, Berkeley after attaining his training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (MMTCP).
After his intensive training in Buddhist meditation and leadership in Sri Lanka, he was involved in voluntary activities at the Uganda Buddhist Centre, where he worked for over a decade. He started a mindfulness Sangha in Kampala that met every Sunday for Dharma practice and discussion. He was also the initial organizer of Vipassana meditation practice in Uganda, and helped to establish the Vipassana Foundation Uganda. He is the founder of The InnerPathways. He now teaches meditation globally, to individuals, organizations and schools.
Besides his meditation practice and teaching, Andrew runs a small charity Blossom Aid, a community-based organisation in Buyende district providing access to safe and clean water to communities, supporting children in education, and livelihood support for communities. This exemplifies his Buddhist practice to service to the public.
